Immersion Program
The language immersion program,
which takes place in Perugia (Umbria), combines structured lessons
in
Italian grammar and pronunciation with both role-playing and supervised
real life 'role-playing' to immediately use what was learned. For example,
if you role-played how to make a purchase in a supermarket, you will
then
go to the supermarket with your teacher to do it for real! Lessons
do not take place in a classroom, but rather they are held in such
places
as a café, a museum, a garden, a church, a theatre… Italian
culture is taught through interactive language lessons in these and
other
cultural places, including a guided visit to another town on Fridays.

Courses are limited to 4-6 students. Students should plan to arrive on a Sunday (when a brief get-to-know-Perugia tour will be given to all students and a guest) and to depart on a Saturday (classes are held Mondays through Fridays. Students may register weekly or monthly. (This program may be combined with the Umbria guided journey or with the Well-Being program.)
A separate option: if you are going on the Umbria guided journey, you may request a one hour lesson per day for an additional fee. Or, you may add on the journey before or after the language/culture immersion course if it is available.
A customized immersion program is also possible.

4:00pm - 5:00pm culture activity
Fridays: classes may be held in another town and will include a guided tour (in Italian)
evenings: at least 2 evenings activities (such as dinner or a special event) will be offered.
Non-refundable deposit
A 50% non-refundable deposit toward the total is required to reserve a spot (payment accepted in personal check, money order or bank check). The balance should be paid in euro upon arrival.

Note: Entrance fees for museums, concerts, or
other activities (such as the evening activities and travel fare, etc,
for Friday classes are not included in the total cost. Students should
expect to pay about 20 euro total for the day on Friday including lunch
and travel.
Housing Fee:
