A True Italian Experience was founded by Marena Lobosco, a dual citizen of both Italia and the United States. While Marena’s family is from Salerno and Calabria, she is a resident of Perugia in Umbria (with residency in Point Pleasant, New Jersey as well).

The creation of her company was as natural as the wind that gently carries a feather from one place to another, having developed as a result of much experience:

Before having permanent residency in Perugia (Italia) and New Jersey (USA), Marena lived in San Diego, California for 7 years where she earned both her BA and her MFA, in New York City for 10 years where she taught literature at Hunter College (CUNY) and where she studied for her PhD in Comparative Literature with a specialization in Italian linguistics and literature. She presented both her academic and creative writing at conferences in the US and in Europe.

Her presentations have not only been academic, however. In addition to her academic life, Marena has been a dancer, choreographer, and performance artist. She worked for two dance companies in San Diego and New York as well as presented her own creative written work and poetry through movement in her performance art work.

Before, after, and between it all, Marena has been “la donna mobile” traveling not only back and forth to Italy and the US throughout her life, but also much of western Europe, eastern Europe, and Africa. To stay grounded in her journey, Marena is also a certified Yoga instructor with the National Yoga Alliance and a certified Reiki instructor.

Her belief in universal oneness and positive energy flow has kept her surrounded by beautiful and loving people in her dance of life. For this she is very grateful. She personally leads all of her programs with the idea of passing on her passion for adventure, culture, and discovery to all of her clients and guests. She is thrilled to work with individuals who share the same passions and welcomes all of her guests and clients with an open heart.
